Chapter Forty-five

(KEEMA)

I heard something outside and quickly ended the call. D-Lite was back. I stuffed my phone back into my panties and lay back on the floor. She walked back in, but this time she was wearing leather gloves. A chill went through my entire body. She took out her phone and made a call. She paced the room before making another call. What was she up to?

"You scared me not answering the phone. Did you get the money?" she asked someone. So, she's working with someone else. Who? "It's all there? Great. This nigga is dumber than I thought. You sure it's all there, right?"

She smiled. I couldn't believe Lamar paid this bitch. She kept on talking. "If you would have come here like I asked, to help me get rid of this body, you would have got the two and a half million, but since you ain't do no work, just take five hundred thousand and leave the rest." She hung up. Then the phone rang again. She answered. I knew from the look on her face that it was Lamar.

"No! Only when I have the money in my hands will I let her go. Don't call me with this bullshit. I hate you, Lamar!" She ended the call. Her attention was now fully focused on me. The only words I remembered were: "Help me get rid of this body!" I now knew my fate. She stood in front of me and pulled out her gun. She shook her head before speaking again.

"Was it worth it?"

"Just do whatever it is you're going to do with me or to me, D-Lite."

"Me? I'm not doing anything to you. Lamar did this to you. He made me have to live with guilt that no person should ever have to. All he had to do was make us a family. That's all. But instead, he decides to be with you, a seventeen-year-old girl. Nah, it's either me or nobody!"

"So do it? Kill me then." I was surprised she knew my age. How did she find that out? Either way it didn't matter, I was dead regardless.

"I want you to die slow," she said, walking closer. As she pointed the gun at my knee cap, I hoped that death would come swift. I didn't want to endure any more pain. I closed my eyes and waited for what would happen next. I wouldn't cry or scream. I was gonna take it like a soldier.

Then suddenly, the door to the warehouse was kicked open. It was Lamar, his body guard Bigga, and two other dudes. They all had big guns drawn. D-Lite quickly moved the gun from pointing at my knee cap to my head.

"D-Lite, put the gun down. Put the fucking gun down now, before I blast you. I don't want to, but I will," Lamar said.

"So, you are going to kill me, Lamar? For this bitch? I'm the mother of your child. She is a nobody."

"D-Lite, put it down. I will do it.
